HF Handbook Introduction (IARU-R1) Introduction | Table of Contents | Handbook in Zip format by Carine Ramon, ON7LX Chairperson HF Committee This is the fifth edition of the HF Managers Handbook. The handbook has been updated in addition with the previous edition. Chapter 1.2 contain the Table of contents of the handbook. The chapters where information is added can be recognised in the foot text where the date has been adapted. This version is also the first which is available under electronic form in RTF and PDF format. The HF Managers Handbook is primarily intended as a guide for HF Managers, and should also be of help to any societies wishing to set up their own HF Committee. Therefore some historical items are contained in this book for the benefit of new HF Committee representatives, who may not always know about matters that have gone in the past. It is also possible to have copies of past HF Newsletters, which are available from the Region 1 Office on request. More societies have become member of the IARU Region 1. This has an impact not only on the membership listings, but also on the ITU prefix allocations. I did try to be as current as possible. Check with your Society Headquarters for latest information. Anyway, the accuracy of this book to a great extent depends on YOU - the user of the book. If you find anything that is wrong, or if you find that something should be added or changed, please tell us. Any ideas for expansions or corrections will be appreciated. A special word of thanks goes to my good friend Pierre, ON7PC who carefully read the whole handbook and who gave me his opinions on layout and accuracy of the contents of the handbook. I also thank Colin, G3PSM who assured us the use of correct English language. Carine Ramon, ON7LX Chairperson HF Committee Distribution and Update 1. All registered HFC delegates, all Region 1 Officers and Headquarters of Member Societies will receive a complimentary copy of the Handbook and of future updates. 2. Member Societies may order additional copies of the Handbook for their Committees, officials, etc. etc... at their own cost. Contact the Secratary. 3. Member Societies will be informed of the issue of any future update packages, and may purchase these packages as described above in order to keep their additional Handbooks up-to-date. For this purpose member societies should keep accurate distributions lists of the Handbooks in possession of their various Committees, officials etc. |
