International Day of Persons with Disabilities — Update on activity

Reminder of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The annual observance of the International Day of Disabled Persons was proclaimed in 1992 by United Nations General Assembly resolution 473.
It aims to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development, and to increase awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.

Announced activity

  • The Bahrain Amateur Radio Society (BARS) will be QRV with the Special Event Station callsign A91IDPD for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities between 27 Nov — 3nd Dec 2023.
  • UBA has received the special callsign OT5IDPD by the BIPT/IBPT. The callsign will be activated soon till December 14, 2023 on all bands, CW and SSB.
    All operators will be hams with a disability.
    A special QSL card will be available after the activation. The log will be uploaded to Clublog and eQSL. We don’t need your QSL card.
