W‑Band study from space

ESA initiated a study for W‑band propagation research from space.
Current industrial and commercial satellites operates roughly up to 40 GHz, where propagation from space has been studied in details. Propagation in W‑Band (75−110 GHz) from space to earth is required for future wide-band applications such as high-speed data connectivity.
ESA started the ARTES project, where cubesats in low-orbit will provide beacons for ground stations to evaluate the propagation over several years.
The amateur community is seeking to participate into this effort, as we do have amateur and amateur satellite allocation in many countries in the 76 – 81 GHz band.
