ARISS CONTACT WITH GERMAN SCHOOL IN WEISKIRCHEN SUCCESSFUL

Sunday 19 July 2009 at 17:54 UTC, i.e. 19:54 local time, the Eichenlaubschule Weiskirchen in Germany, performed an ARISS contact with ESA astronaut Frank de Winne. The contact was a telebridge between onboard station OR4ISS and the ARISS telebridge ground station ON4ISS in Belgium, operated by Philippe Van houte ON5PV. Gaston Bertels ON4WF was the moderator of the contact.

ARISS CONTACT PLANNED WITH SCHOOL IN GERMANY

An Expedition 20 ARISS school contact has been planned with participants at Eichenlaubschule,  Weiskirchen, Saarland, Germany. The event is scheduled on Sunday 19 July 2009 at approximately 17:54 UTC, which is 19:54 CEST. The contact will be a telebridge between onboard station OR4ISS and ARISS telebridge groundstation ON4ISS. The participants are expected to conduct the conversation in English. Downlink signals will be audible over Europe on 145.800 MHz FM.

ARISS CONTACT PLANNED FOR FRANK DE WINNE WITH PARTICIPANTS AT CAMPUS SAFFRAANBERG

An Expedition 20 ARISS school contact has been planned with participants at Campus Saffraanberg, Sint Truiden, Belgium.. The event is scheduled on Friday 17 July 2009 at approximately 17:09 UTC, which is 19:09 CEST. The contact will be a direct between onboard station OR4ISS and ON4BAF. The participants are expected to conduct the conversation in French and in Dutch. Downlink signals will be audible over Europe on 145.800 MHz FM.

Not far from the charming town of Sint-Truiden, Campus Saffraanberg houses the Royal NCO-School. In former times, this school used to be responsible for the training of all NCO-technicians, but since September 2007, the range of training programmes has been widely extended with technical, as well as non-technical courses for both Dutch- and French-speaking boys and girls. After a successful completion of their training, they are equipped for a military career within the Ministry of Defence.

ARISS CONTACT WITH STUDENTS AT EURO SPACE CENTER SUCCESSFUL

Sunday 12 July 2009, students at Euro Space Center in Belgium enjoyed a space talk with astronaut Frank De Winne aboard the International Space Station. Audience was over 500. The radio contact was performed by ARISS groundstation WH6PN, located in Honolulu and operated by Nancy Rocheleau. Dick Flagg, AH6NM provided assistance, while Dominique, ON4DGF handled operations at the Euro Space center.

ARISS VOIP coordinator Graham Lawton G7EVY distributed the radiocontact over *AMSAT* and *JK1ZRW* EchoLink Conference nodes. Doug, VE1LDL made the audio available on the IRLP network. ARISS CONTACT WITH STUDENTS AT TECHNOPOLIS SUCCESSFUL

Saturday 11 July 2009, students at Technopolis, Mechelen, Belgium enjoyed a space talk with astronaut Frank De Winne aboard the International Space Station. The radio contact was performed by ARISS groundstation LU8YY, located in Argentina and operated by Luis. Daniel, LU5YBR provided assistance, while Rik, ON7YD handled operations at Technopolis. ARISS VOIP coordinator Graham Lawton G7EVY distributed the radiocontact over *AMSAT* and *JK1ZRW* EchoLink Conference nodes. Doug, VE1LDL made the audio available on the IRLP network. De Winne answered 14 questions.
