New DARC Intruder watch Coordinator

Tom DF5JL, DARC HF Manager.

With immediate effect Daniel Möller, DL3RTL, born in 1973, will take over the tasks from Wolf DK2OM regarding the German intruder watch (“Bandwacht”).

Daniel is licensed since 2003 and has been a shortwave listener since his earliest youth. Professionally he is a sales engineer in the field of research and development at a Berlin institute. He is editor of various publications on shortwave. In amateur radio he prefers QRP operation on short wave and satellite radio. I’m happy as DARC HF Manager to fill the position with Daniel, because of his professional experience in this field.

Peter Jost, HB9CET, IARUMS R1 Coordinator a.I

After many years’ commitment in watching intruders on the amateur bands, Wolfgang Hadel, DK2OM retired at the end of 2019. Wolf has worked for the IARU Monitoring System R1 (IARUMS) for more than 30 years. Since 2005 he was Coordinator of IARUMS R1.

We thank Wolf you so much for his extraordinary commitment and the outstanding brilliant work done for our hobby over so many years. We all hope that he will stay with us still for a long time as a great monitoring expert. Wolf already confirmed that he will stay in the background and help from there as well as possible.

On his retirement Wolf has been awarded the IARU President’s Diamond Award for his outstanding contribution to amateur radio spectrum defense through leadership of the IARU Monitoring Service.
