The ARSPEX Working Group is a specialised body of the IARU Region 1 for Amateur Radio Space EXploration.
The ARSPEX WG acts under the provisions of the IARU Region 1 Constitution and Bylaws and operates within the terms of reference .
News:
July 27th 2025: HamTV installation has been scheduled for 1405 UTC on Tuesday 29 July 2025.
A succesful install should have the HamTV equipment active around 1605 UTC and transmitting a carrier on 2395 MHz.
Estimated power at the antenna is approx. 2 watts, RHCP.
HamTV is the name of the Digital Amateur Television (DATV) transmitter of the International Space Station (ISS).
The HamTV equipment is installed in the ESA Columbus module from the ISS.
HamTV was developed primarily for educational live ARISS contacts with astronauts.

April 1st 2025: Fram2, the first human spaceflight over the Earth’s polar regions, announces that SpaceX is targeting Tuesday, April 1st 2025 for Falcon 9 to launch the all-international crew of four aboard a Dragon spacecraft to a 90-degree circularized orbit from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Fram2 will have up to three launch attempts within a three-hour launch window, with SpaceX targeting 03:20 UTC for liftoff.
Rabea Rogge LB9JN/KD3AID will transmit SSTV images on 437.550 MHz.

February 13 – 17 2025: ISS transmits SSTV images in PD120 format on 437.550 MHz.
This is a test for the FRAM2HAM participants, but any HAM or SWL can receive those pictures and is encouraged to upload the files to the ARISS gallery at https://ariss-usa.org/ARISS_SSTV/ . Awards will be available.
January 2025: FRAM2 space mission will be the first human mission flying a polar orbit.
