Provisional results for the last 2022 IARU R1 Marconi Memorial VHF Contest are available on IARU Region 1 VHF & Up Contest Robot. Here are the Final Results and the Participants’ Logs
We have received a total of 803 logs from 25 different countries of Region 1.
The complaining period will end on February 3rd and after that results will be final.

As usual the IARU participated in the most recent CEPT SE40 meeting developing the ECC Report on 23cm band amateur and RNSS GALILEO coexistence. The meeting reviewed and accepted a major statistical study carried out by the IARU for inclusion in the developing draft work item deliverable. No other contributing parties have provided such a study and the results clearly underpin the IARU view that potential interference to a population of RNSS GALILEO users is unlikely on any large scale.

CEPT Short Range Device project team SE24 meeting #108 took place 9 — 11 January 2023. The IARU participated in the work of the group on several work items associated with Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) and Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) automotive radars.
The impact and standardisation of WPT technologies is being carefully assessed across the lowest HF bands and the impact of the UWB technologies is relevant in the amateur service allocations in the mm-wave bands at 76 GHz, 122 GHz and 134 GHz.
The IARU R1 continues to fully engage in the ongoing studies associated with WPT to ensure minimal impact to our lowest HF bands. The IARU made a contribution to ensure the amateur services voice was heard in the discussion to finalise draft ECC Report 351 on spectrum sharing studies on mm-wave UWB radar systems. In Spain, the authorisation for radio operation in the range from 2400.050 to 2410 MHz has been extended by one year. It is now valid until 26 December 2023.
The previous authorisation expired on 26 December 2022. The Spanish amateur radio association URE had previously asked the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures for an extension of the administrative authorisation.
The permit allows operation in the 2400.050 to 2410 MHz range, enabling radio amateurs in Spanish territory to make QSOs via the geostationary satellite QO-100. The maximum EIRP permitted is 1500 W. According to the authorisation, directional antennas used must have at least 21.5 dBi.
